February 22, 2010New Poll: Almost Two-thirds of employees Worried About 2010 Stress and WorkloadCHICAGO – Feb. 22, 2010 – The majority of U.S. workers report a worried outlook for 2010 in terms of job stress and workload, according to a Tell It Now(SM) poll released today by ComPsych Corporation. Roughly three in every four employees identified they are very to somewhat worried what 2010 will bring. ComPsych is the world’s largest provider of employee assistance programs and worldwide leader in GuidanceResources (EAPs, behavioral health, wellness, work-life and crisis intervention services). “Following an economically trying year, many workers have weathered layoffs and budget cuts in addition to the normal, first-quarter spike in stress levels,” says Dr. Richard A. Chaifetz, Chairman and CEO of ComPsych. “We’re receiving an exceptionally high volume of requests related to managing stress, whether through workplace training or through personal counseling.”

“Employers should take this opportunity to support employees, especially those who have taken on additional work,” Dr. Chaifetz added. “This can be accomplished by promoting benefits such as employee assistance and work-life programs, and helping employees develop their stress-management skills through workplace classes led by professional counselors.” About ComPsych
