Social Impact Awards Celebrate Chicago Mental Health Advocates
The Chicago School of Professional Psychology held its Social Impact Leaders Awards luncheon March 29 honoring Chicago-area mental health advocates who make an impact in the areas of mental health, psychology and behavioral health.
Among the four individuals honored was Dr. Richard A. Chaifetz, Psy.D., founder, chairman and CEO of ComPsych Corporation. Dr. Chaifetz pioneered fully integrated employee assistance, behavioral health, wellness, work-life and human resources administration services.
“Today, one in five Americans live with a mental illness, but for many reasons, including stigma and lack of access, a gap in treatment persists,” said Margie Martyn, Ph.D., TCSPP Chicago Campus Dean. “All of our honorees have demonstrated their commitment to improving the lives of those suffering from mental disorders through their initiatives. As an institution that educates a significant number of the psychologists in America and prides itself on training and educating the next generation of mental and behavioral health practitioners, we are proud to recognize them at this event and salute the many thousands who are leading the way for change.”
