U.S. Employees’ Biggest COVID-19 Fear Is Related to the Economy, Jobs

Apr 6, 2020

Worries over the economy and jobs have now surpassed fears of contracting the virus itself, according to the poll. ComPsych Corporation is the world’s largest provider of employee assistance programs and is the pioneer and worldwide leader of fully integrated EAP, behavioral health, wellness, work-life, HR, FMLA and absence management services under its GuidanceResources brand.

“Employees are watching the news about temporary closings of business, stock market gyrations and others being laid off and are wondering how they will be affected,” said Dr. Richard A. Chaifetz, Founder, Chairman and CEO of ComPsych. “People are nervous and rightfully so, but there is hope that the stimulus package will bring relief.”

ComPsych asked employees: What concerns you most about the coronavirus pandemic?

36% said -- “How much the economy or my job will be affected”

33% said -- “Coming to work and being exposed”

17% said -- “Being in public places or traveling and being exposed”

14% said – “Whether or not my children are safe”
